ICROS

Dear Members of the Institute of Control, Robotics, and Systems (ICROS),

I am Sang-il Park, the chief executive officer of Park Systems Corporation, a company specializing in atomic force microscopy. It is a tremendous honor for me to serve as the president of ICROS for 2024.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of ICROS. Since its foundation in September 1994, ICROS has grown into an academic society that represents both academia and industry in the fields of control, robotics, and systems in Korea. Our institute's growth can be fully credited to the unceasing efforts devoted by the members of ICROS. In cooperation with the directors, vice presidents, branch chairpersons, and other executive members, I will dedicate my efforts to providing an ideal venue for academic and information exchange to the members, which is the core mission of an academic society. The institute will support the research and academic activities of the members by promoting collaborations with various domestic and international academic organizations.

The key events of our institute in 2024 include the 39th ICROS Annual Conference (ICROS 2024), which is a domestic academic conference that will be held at the Daejeon Convention Center from July 2 to 4. Also, the 24th International Conference on Control, Automation and Systems (ICCAS 2024) will be held at Shinhwa World at Jeju Island from October 29 to November 1. In addition to our 30th anniversary ceremony, I will promote ICROS 2024 as a venue for active exchange between the members of academia, research institutes, and industry. Similarly, I will encourage ICCAS 2024 as a forum for exchanging diverse ideas and fostering innovative research by inviting speakers from various fields around the world.

Furthermore, I will strive to facilitate the growth of our academic journals as our main publishing projects. The Journal of Institute of Control, Robotics, and Systems (Scopus-indexed) and the International Journal of Control, Automation, and Systems (SCIE-indexed), a research journal provided in English, will both be elevated to the international level through quality enhancements.

I look forward to the active participation of the members in all our projects in 2024 to advance both our members and the institute.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of our institute, I promise to showcase a significant elevation in its stature through my unceasing dedication to its development and breakthroughs. I sincerely request your continued affection and interest in our institute. As we enter the Year of the Blue Dragon, I wish you and your family a restful and joyful New Year.
